ABOUT
My venture into floral design originally stemmed from my deep love of music. As a songwriter, I've always been enamored by the creative process of shaping one spark of an idea into a lush full arrangement. That passion eventually spilled over into flowers. Just as one phrase or a simple chord progression can strike the heart, a single bloom's color or a leaf's texture can be the inspiration of an amazing creation. THE PROPER POPPY started out as a flower I would scribble on the back of handmade cards years ago, and became the shoe-in for the name and logo of my freelance floral design business.
On a national level, I've collaborated with published interior designers on location for photo shoots. Locally, I've worked on many types of projects ranging from weekly restaurant designs, pop up flower shops, conceptualizing parties for 100+, staging homes, creating holiday tablescapes, to teaching floral workshops. I also love creating bouquets for your acquaintances, friends and love ones that convey what words sometimes cannot accomplish.
While cut flowers are somewhat fleeting beauties, they leave behind an indelible feeling. When working with THE PROPER POPPY, you will find I strive to bring a unique passionate perspective and effortless elegance to any occasion with beautiful fresh flowers and foliage.
